So on Saturday night...in the rain we ventured out to West Hollywood to go eat in Thai town and then out to an electronic music concert.
First of all rain does not make for good conditions in CA....
People are crazy here when it rains...they either go 5 mph or they go like 95 and act like it is 70 and sunny outside and are oblivious to "the rain"
We ate at Torung in Thai Town....it was my first experience with Thai food and I was a little (or alot nervous) since everyone knows that I might be a little on the picky side when it comes to food..
You can see the pics above of our table of food....
There were 3-4 dishes I really enjoyed - my favorite one being the soup..it was chicken in a coconut milk base...and i added in some white rice..it was pretty yummy..i think i had 3 servings.
We also ordered s shrimp one...i am not sure what all was in that one..it looked like they cleaned out the fridge and put everything they had not used for the week in it..needless to say I did not try that one. Another dish I like was chicken kabobs with a peanut sauce and then a chicken dish with noodles, brussel sprouts...and not sure what else (sometimes it is just better not to ask)...so is everyone seeing a trend...I LOVE CHICKEN...
Now on to our next adventure- Circus...that is the name of the club we went out to...
It was really cool to get to meet all the people I have heard TC talk about for over a year...
The club was huge and pretty awesome...we heard 2 different DJ's...
This club is open to 4am..but I am just too old to party like a rockstar anymore...
Some interesting things at the club...
1.) some people seriously can not look at them self in the mirror before the leave...if they did there is no way they would leave home dressed the way they dress
2.) see the pic of the hot dog..this is because the club had a concession stand..
can you believe it a concession stand inside the club
So after enjoying the people watching and hearing some good tunes we headed out.
Well I know what you are thinking..this is the end to our night out on the town..oh i wish so..but no
traffic was awful..awful..yes at midnight..i guess people have nothing better to do here than to drive around and cause huge amounts of traffic jams. So TC being the patient man he is with traffic decided we should take some back streets to avoid the traffic and get to the freeway...
So i was like yeah sure sounds like a great idea...there we were..driving around town in his Chevy Malibu chatting about the night events...when all of a sudden...I joke you not this car stops in the middle of the road..and these 2 cops pop out like a jack in the box of an unmarked police car...They left there doors wide open...and all of a sudden we look over and see 3-4 African Americans with there hands up assuming the position...another guy was in a Lincoln town car and they were yelling at him to get out of the car..
Now this all happened within 5 feet of us..and in the short time frame of 10 seconds..so tc tries to throw it in reverse...but we were stuck..he was like should we duck..and in my head i am thinking.."really tc...what about me looks like i would know what to do in a gang shoot out" I am thinking..he must have temporarily forgotten where I was raised...
I mean this is something that only happens in cops.. you know when you are sitting at home in the comfort of your own home singing along to the bad boys theme song
Finally we were able to speed off around the car and get the heck out of there...the whole time I am thinking..wonder if they would get mad if I took some pictures for my blog...
Several things were going thru my mind...if they did yell at me for taking the pics I could totally pull of .."I am a tourist..sorry officer"- I do have the accent to go with it.
After some quick deliberation I decided sticking a camera out the window might not be in my best interest and I refrained...but man i could have gotten some good up close action shots for my viewers...
So that was the conclusion to my evening...
Once we got on the freeway..I looked at TC and said..."Well I think it is safe to say I am not in Harrodsburg anymore!"
